The City of Wetaskiwin and Town of Ashoro have a Sister City relationship that has lasted for over 35 years, and we want to ensure this connection continues to thrive. The Coordinator of International Relations or CIR position, is an excellent opportunity for a current or previous Wetaskiwin (and area) resident to work abroad in Ashoro, Hokkaido, Japan.
Bachelor's Degree or a 2-year Diploma in any field of study.
Resident of or affiliations with the City or County of Wetaskiwin.
Qualify for a work visa from the Government of Japan.
We will help you with this!
Perform liaison duties, give presentations, and produce written documents and articles.
Conduct English language classes for students aged 5-15, and adults.
Assist with student exchange programs between Wetaskiwin, and Ashoro.
Minimum 2-year contract
Commitment, extendable for up to 5 years if agreed upon by both parties.
Salary, benefits, and work terms are set by the Ashoro Board of Education.
Travel expenses to Japan are provided by the Town of Ashoro.
Living arrangements are provided with subsidized rent.
A vehicle is provided for use within the Tokachi Prefecture.
